this post is a sad one so get the tissues ready! we are giving molli away to bryan's mom and step dad. this is the next hard part of our move toward seminary.
molli loves us no matter what. she doesn't care what we look like, smell like, or even act like, for the most part. if we leave the house for 20 minutes, molli will greet us at the door as if we're famous. she was very jealous of mya when we first brought her home from the hospital, and even still molli does not like being the 'horsey' during pretend play, but she has been gentle with mya and a great playmate.
molli requires monthly and sometimes weekly medicine for a chronic illness (of course, we would pick the dog at the pound who would later develop a chronic illness). she needs land on which to run. she needs owners who can handle a financial liability. you might say she is a 'dollar sign' running around on four legs. we are eternally grateful for bryan's parents and their sacrifice to take her into a loving home. at least we will still be able to visit molli.
when bryan and i made the decision to leave fsu and go back to school we really didn't consider to what extent we would be called to give up our current comforts. sure, we'd have less money to spend, but it's not like we're wealthy. this is where, for me, 'the call' from God to go to seminary becomes very, very real. it was hard to sell our home because reality became more clear when the 'sold' sign went up. but i'm afraid the reality of leaving tallahassee for seminary is about to become ever more real when we drive back from texas without our companion, molli.
keep us in your prayers. it is not an impossible task but it is difficult just the same. thanks for reading and for caring for us!
love,
the loneys
