CUT!

as in when the director of a movie yells 'cut' to stop a scene. my friend sarah and i were talking the other day about how easy it is via blogspot to make it appear as though being a parent is totally fabulous. it's only fitting to post the pictures of happy, laughing, faces and to avoid taking pictures of the five time-outs per day, or the flailing and screaming in a restaurant, OR the slap in the face, a pointed index finger, and a 'no, no' from mya to mommy. that one she did not learn from us.

i just wanna say, as you peruse these new posts, that this last five months with mya have been the hardest months of my life. and a much overdue thank you to my mom and dad for all of the CR** that they put up with; all of the financial provision, meals prepared and cleaned up, car rides, all of the patience with temper tantrums and also the tantrums from when i was still living at home, the list just goes on and on. i mean, does mya say 'thank you' when i spend fifteen minutes preparing a bag before we go anywhere so that when we get in the car and she asks for 'blankie', 'juice', 'fruit snacks', 'no, the other fruit snacks' i have it all handy? no. she does not. does she realize how many grey hairs are dancing in the follicles atop my cranium just waiting to release and age me ten years due to her incessant fighting of sleep? no. she does not. and neither did i when i was her age. but my parents loved me anyway.

and so i love her too. though she does age me it is worth it. and all of these fun times posted here are legit. i just want my readers to know there are plenty of not-so-fun times, lest i appear to have it all together.

and to think tomorrow i get to do it all over again. oye.
i will say this, she makes me laugh hard everyday.

You and Timothy were and are to Dad and me as precious as Mya is to you--it was and still is a privilege to be at your beck and call! XXX
