magic house

do you ever find yourself in a perfect picturesque setting sans your camera? i do, often. today, mya and i went to the magic house after work. tim gave us a year-long membership there and it's a good thing, too, because mya loves it. it's this great, big, old mansion and inside it has been renovated to fit the active minds of toddlers, etc. there's a water table, a sand table, multiple slides, winding stair cases, crawl spaces, a science center with brain teasers, and a kid-friendly village. the village is mya's favorite part. there's a grocery store where she can run around with a cart and pull whatever she wants off of the shelves, fit with a produce section, dairy case, meat department, and bakery. she then heads to the cashier, played by an eager, older child, gets her groceries 'checked out' and pays monopoly cash for them. we leave them on the counter and head off to the child size play house where she can cook in a kitchen and feed a baby doll. before heading upstairs we stopped at an ice cream truck where mya handed out ice cream and even mailed some to her friend, leasey, in tallahassee. she put it in the mail box.
there's a fishing hole, an auto repair shop, a pizza restaurant, a post office, a library and the electric company. mya even got to see herself on tv.
as i was walking around i was thinking, 'in our next house we'll have this, and this, and this...' it gives you so many doable ideas for a kid's playroom. we'll be the most popular kids hangout on the block. how fun would that be?
