obstacles

today was mine and mya's first mom's morning out experience. the seminary has a co-op on campus where we take turns caring for each other's kiddos so moms can go do whatever, sans the cling-ons, as i like to refer to mya as of late.

to set up this morning clear and fresh in your minds, i will start by saying that just yesterday we went jeans shopping. as most of you know, mya is what we like to call an eckto-morph. she's remarkably tall for her age and that length makes her look quite slim. plus, she's potty trained. no more diaper-bulk for added 'junk in the trunk'. mya has no hips. she has no butt. who's kid is she anyway? so finding the right pair of jeans has been an adventure. a friend clued me into H & M clothing store as they sell low rise and 'sqinny' jeans for todds. success!

back to this morning, five minutes before take off, we're sitting at the counter drinking apple juice when the lid pops off and 8 ounces of sticky juice pour all over her new denim trousers, and the floor. she needed a bath. no other clean pants to be found. sad!

when i picked her up from her time on campus i was told that she peed on the floor. she also pushed some kid down, 'because she wouldn't stop crying' and had to sit in time out. and i ask you, why so many obstacles to a great first mom's morning out?
