that is, before the monday after christmas. bryan and i left my parent's house in greeville, took off toward the beautiful north carolina mountains for the day, and savored the views. bryan and i actually met on a back-packing trip to somewhere in those mountains behind us, about 8 years ago. but that's not what this post is about. our good friends and seminary neighbors, met us there. this is where rachael's family lives. this is where she and charlie met and fell in l-o-v-e. are you seeing a theme with this place? this is where charlie went to college, at montreat. so, we could not get a proper feel of this great place without c & r. they took us to the coffee shop where their storybook romance began...she was sitting on a couch reading a book, sipping a mocha, he walked in, saw her, and knew his life would never be the same. bryan and i had to buy a mug to commemorate 'the dripolater'.
speaking of c & r, let me also do a solid for 'simple wood' and show you what charlie just made for mya's toys:

picture this a bright juicy cantelope color...when i can manage to do without it for a while as i paint it. don't know though, it may stay this neutral color. we're loving it.

i also LOVE "the dripolator." 9 of my summers were spent in a small town outside of asheville... including the one when i met Jesus. i have very fond memories of that place too! i'm glad y'all enjoyed it.
