because your kiss your kiss is on my lips....

so i love flickr. i love uploading photos and enlarging them, cropping them, editing them, and posting them on my blog. before moving to boston for the summer, i failed to copy my flickr sign in info, meaning that i had to open a new account. but i failed to copy down that sign in info and after trying repeatedly to get it right, i got the boot from flickr as one trying to hack into my own account.

i recently discovered that though i cannot edit on blogspot, i can englarge my photos and so the posting will continue. once you get used to enlarging your photos on blogspot you can't go back to the small format. it just looks wrong.

my camera is bursting with images from vacations and holidays and i can't wait to get back to one of my favorite pass times. until then, i thought i'd send a friendly shout out to my peeps who faithfully check to see if there are new posts to read.

we are still loving brighton. however, our sublet sans air conditioning has proved to be a bit challenging in july. june was much cooler. july has been a beast. no amount of fans can keep the humidity from making me very, very grouchy indeed.

our church has no ac. and many of the homes we've been in have no ac. we can't escape the heat, except when we go to the library, grocery store, ymca, restaurants, target, or car. so we go to one of thoes places everyday. and we eat a lot of ice cream. i've gained 2 pounds.

my folks are visiting right now which is especially fun. we have some things planned around boston so that will be a pleasant distraction from the heat. mya loves her grammie and grampie and wrote out several notecards to tell them as much, to give them upon their arrival. mya loves to write. she is reading full sentences by sounding out the words. she can read many 'bob' books, which are designed for her age. one sentence reads, the cat sat on the mat. she can read the whole thing by sounding it out. how exciting!

we miss our st. louis friends. we miss the lou. we look forward to returning to one more year of school. i can't believe i just said that. school is brutal but so good. we look forward to hugging our fellow seminary pals, mya starting pre-k, and being back with our church family.

boston has been so great! bryan and i love the city. each time we have left it we have been giddy to return. the people here are loving us well. i have made friends. not the surface level kind where you only talk about the weather. real friends who are authentic and share real life with me. what a joy. i pray i get to see them again. mya and bryan have made friends as well and i know they will miss them when we leave.

we're applying to the church planting assessment in the fall. this will be a four day assessment where we are analyzed and told whether or not church planting is a good fit for us. if you are not familiar with church planting assessment this must sound really strange. it is strange. but necessary and good. we are scared beyond belief that we are asking God if we can raise a ton of money to start a church in boston. what? what!

and the title of this post? i have that song by daryl hall and john oates in my head from listening to it all day. today was a good day. more posts to come.

I LOVE flickr too! When you get back in, find me! I'm KristenMakes on Flickr... I'm glad you are liking Boston. Trent & I have no idea where we will end up after he is finished with school, but we are considering Boston among other cities. We are "city people" now which is really weird. Good luck on your church planting assessment - I look forward to hearing how that goes! I'll be praying for you guys. Love you!
