sometimes God brings friends into your life that are just so easy to love. there are many friends in my life that meet this description. jodi is one of these people. i got to know her when she and her man moved to off campus seminary housing over a year ago.

jodi was born and raised in england. jim was born and raised in the u s of a. they are an amazing couple.

the amazingness made itself ever more apparent as i have watched them walk through a very difficult time. their firstborn, ellie, was diagnosed with severe acid reflux very early on in her young life and has been struggling for many months to eat. her precious newborn sister is already showing the same symptoms of reflux.

during this incredibly challenging time, this couple has been authentic in their frustration and concern, but their faith has never wavered. they do not wallow in self-pity but ask how they can be praying for me. they cherish and covet the prayers and meals from others, but they are not demanding of these things from others. they are a stellar example to me of how we can have joy in the midst of very difficult times.

this post is not meant to inflate egos and worship mankind, but rather give honor and glory to the One who makes it possible for this family to be who they are.

jodi, i love you, dear friend! i am so blessed to know you and be a part of your life. because i was not raised with godparents, i had to look up the meaning of the word on wikipedia, after i said, 'yes', "The modern view of a godparent tends to be an individual chosen by the parents to take an interest in the child's upbringing and personal development."
