celebrate!

novemberdecember2010 002

this thanksgiving, we stayed home and celebrated with fellow friends and seminary families, just like last year. for the first time, we went to church in the morning and heard an inspiring message about the purpose of thanksgiving. my whole life, i've always thought about the things i'm thankful for on thanksgiving. it's the usual; family, health, food, my home, etc. but this year, and really surprisingly for the first time, i thought specifically about Jesus. it's not that i haven't been thankful for Jesus and his death and resurrection before on thanksgiving, but i usually focus more on Jesus at Christmastime and at Easter. this thanksgiving, i meditated on who He is, what He has done, and what He will continue to do. and i am so thankful. it is because of Him that all of these other things in my life can be enjoyed. thank you Lord for who you are, for your unfailing love and your never ending mercy and grace, in my life and in the world.
