millry, alabama

this is mya's great-grandmother. she has had a full life of modeling, acting, raising one daughter and three sons, she's an artist, has the voice of an angel, is an amazing cook, and she can play ANYTHING on the piano just by listening to it first. at 83 years old she eats whatever she wants and is in excellent health. she drives a cherry red lincoln navigator to new hampshire every year, with her beloved husband as her 'co-pilot' because 'he drives like a turtle'. haha. for those of you who are still reading this you'll be surprised to know that a famous documentarian has interviewed my grandmother on what it was like to live through the Depression and the Civil rights movement. it will air on national television in 2007. i'm so proud of my very special grandmother.

this is mya's great-grandmother's husband, paul.
there are so many wonderful things to say about this man, as well. my grandfather passed away when i was ten. my grandmother married paul 15 years ago. he spent much of his life doing missionary work in africa as a medical doctor. he has enough incredible stories about his life there and elsewhere to fill countless books. he is the kindest, sweetest, most gentle man one could know.

good times around the kitchen table.
