my 'little pelican'

mya's first day of pre-kindergarten was last week. the name of her class is called 'little pelicans'. she is going 2 half days a week to a private christian school at a church where francis schaeffer used to be pastor. The pulpit, from behind which this man used to preach, and is still there to this day, is engraved with a picture of a pelican biting it's own flesh and feeding it to it's young. it's there to serve as a picture of what God has done for us in sacrificing his own flesh, his Son, on our behalf. i am grateful for what it reminds me of when i hear mya say she is a little pelican. may she love learning from this day forward!
